Delgado homers as Mets beat Marlins 4-1 (AP)

Florida Marlins' Scott Olsen pours a cup of water over his head after he was relieved by Matt Lindstrom in the sixth inning of a baseball game against the New York Mets in Miami, Tuesday, July 29, 2008. The Mets won 4-1.

When slugger Carlos Delgado squared to bunt in the eighth inning, the pitch was inside for a ball, spoiling his bid to catch the Florida Marlins by surprise. Just as well for the New York Mets. Three pitches later, Delgado hit a two-run homer, providing a cushion that helped beat Florida 4-1 on Tuesday night.
