Glaus hits winning homer in ninth for Cards (AP)

St. Louis Cardinals' Chris Duncan, right, pumps his fist as he rounds the bases on a two-run home run off New York Mets relief pitcher Pedro Feliciano, left, during the eighth inning of a baseball game Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in St. Louis.

Troy Glaus’ second homer of the game with two outs in the ninth won it for St. Louis, an inning after pinch-hitter Chris Duncan’s two-run shot tied it in the Cardinals’ 8-7 victory over the New York Mets on Wednesday night. Glaus’ fifth career game-winning homer came off rookie Carlos Muniz (0-1), a towering drive that barely cleared the left-field wall.
