Mets take rubber game from Rockies, 3-1 (AP)

New York Mets left fielder Marlon Anderson, left, reaches out to congratulate center fielder Carlos Beltran after he pulled in a sinking line drive off the bat of Colorado Rockies' Willy Taveras for the final out in the ninth inning of the Mets' 3-1 victory in a baseball game in Denver on Sunday, June 22, 2008.

A week of turmoil ended on a high note for the New York Mets. Mike Pelfrey carried a shutout into the sixth inning, Carlos Beltran hit a two-run homer and the Mets beat the Colorado Rockies 3-1 on Sunday to wrap up a winning road trip under interim manager Jerry Manuel. He took over for the fired Willie Randolph after the Mets beat the Los Angeles Angels to open a six-game trip last Monday.
