Wagner blows 3rd straight save in Mets‘ loss (AP)

Arizona Dimaondbacks Chris Young hits an RBI double off New York Mets closer Billy Wagner during the ninth inning of in Arizona's 5-4, 10th inning victory over the Mets in a baseball game at Shea Stadium in New York, Thursday, June 12, 2008.

Billy Wagner’s big slump has come at a terrible time for the New York Mets. The beleaguered closer coughed up his third consecutive save chance, this time wasting a splendid pitching performance by Johan Santana and allowing the Arizona Diamondbacks to rally past New York 5-4 in 10 innings Thursday. “It’s frustrating,” Wagner said.
